Wanawake Waislamu wanaweza kuvaa ukaya ambayo ni shela inayofunika uso. Ushungi ni kitambaa ambacho huzungushwa kichwani na shingoni, lakini hakifuniki uso; wakati ambapo kanga ni kitambaa ambacho huzungushwa kichwani na begani, na kama ushungi haufuniki uso pia. Buibui ni vazi linalofunika mwili wote kutoka kichwa hadi kidole cha mguu.

Muslim women may wear a niqab, which is a veil that covers the face. A hijab is a cloth that is wrapped around the head and neck, but does not cover the face; whereas the kanga cloth is a cloth that is wrapped around the head and shoulders, and like the hijab it also does not cover the face. A burqa is a garment that covers the whole body from head to toe.
